STORMS IMPACT TEXAS PRIMARY RUNOFF ELECTION IN COLLIN COUNTY

We’ve been told there are six sites without power right now, primarily in Denton County. Our political report working to confirm exactly which locations have been impacted. Collin County elections is now reporting seven of its 38 polling locations is without power because of those storms. Two of those seven, Harrington Library in Plano, Collin College in Plano, have water damage. Staff is going to be at those seven locations redirecting voters to other locations.” - CBS NEWS
Polling locations in Dallas, Collin, Denton counties closed on Election Day following storms
COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — Severe storms led to power outages, damage to buildings and flooding on Election Day causing over a hundred polling locations to lose power and creating delays at others.
Tuesday, May 28 is Election Day for the 2024 primary runoff elections. A runoff election is triggered when no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote in an election. This upcoming runoff follows the March 5 primary election.
Officials in Collin County said that three voting locations are currently closed due to power outages or water damages:
- Collin College Plano Campus, 2800 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX
- Harrington Library, 1501 18th St, Plano, TX
- Michael J. Felix Community Center, 3815 Sachse Rd E, Sachse, TX
